My passion for photography all started when I explored my extended backyard wanted to capture certain aspects of the natural beauty of Seneca Creek in Maryland, where I grew up. I started with a simple point and shoot camera and when I decided that I could go no longer without any control over focusing, worked my up to the Canons EOS line and the equipment I have now.
I am completely self taught, but tend to spend a lot of time reading articles, books, and learning from other photographers.
I also have a passion for hockey, geology, and biology, which I spend my remaining time learning about. I am a bleeding green Spartan at heart, but I am currently studying geology in graduate school at the U of Wyoming. Looking at geology is great, understanding it is even better, and using photography to teach people to appreciate it is the best.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Michigan, Maryland, and the Appalachian Mountains. I will forever be a student exploring all the hikes, animal trails, and details of the outdoors. I love to find and photograph details in nature that remind me to appreciate the world we live in a little more and hope that my photography can inspire you to do the same. Maybe you’ll learn a little science along the way, too ![]()
